Want good digestion? Sip saunf or fennel seeds tea

According to Ayurveda, fennel seeds tea can help you get rid of bloating, gas, digestion problems and stress.

We Indians love having chai every morning and in the evening. There are many health benefits of tea black tea, green tea, white tea or herbal teas like chamomile tea, jasmine tea or peppermint tea. This saunf tea or fennel seeds tea recipe by Ayurvedacharya Dr Partap Chauhan, director, Jiva Ayurveda, is full of nutrients that help you deal with a variety of health problems including indigestion, flatulence, diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach pain. Fennel seeds are amazing for your health. One of the reasons why Indians eat saunf after meals is that the seed has the ability to stimulate the digestive tract, help in proper digestion and assimilation of food, moving it through the tract thus quickly beating bloating and gas. The high fibre content also helps relieve constipation by absorbing water and softening stools. Here are other home remedies for This recipe is light and easily digestible. It is a good recipe for dysuria as well. It balances excessive pitta and is a great stress-buster. According to Ayurveda, fennel also pacifies vata, pitta and kapha doshas. Also Read - Beware! Ingredients

1 cup pure water

2 tsp coarsely powdered fennel seed

1/4 tsp sugar (optional)

1 tiny pinch of cardamom

Garnish with fresh mint leaves

Method

Bring the water to a boil. Add fennel, sugar and cardamom, turn off heat, cover and steep for 5 minutes. Do you know about the health benefits of fennel seeds?

Strain and garnish with mint leaves.

Enjoy at room temperature or when it is mildly warm.

You could also try adding other spices in the tea, like star anise or cinnamon.
