How many times have you wished that, that little black dress would fit you as perfectly as the model advertising? Or looked at your body with displeasure just wishing and hoping that those flabby parts would simply melt off? Well, this perception of what a perfect body should look like is often a product of advertising and marketing. What’s more are those clothes made with the tag ‘one size fits all’. While the makers of the garment make the product so that it is elastic and fits any body type, they tend to oversell the way it is ‘supposed’ to look, making you think that if you don’t fit the clothes your body in some way is not what is percieved to be perfect.
In this video, made by BuzzFeedVideos the makers ask a bunch of girls, all of different sizes, to try on outfits that were made to fit all body types. What ensues is a set of funny and sometimes thought proving testimonials about how easily our sense of self esteem and body image is warped. A negative body image can affect your health in a number of way, including marring your sex life.
Finally, it is essential for you to understand that one size does NOT fit all and you are perfect the way you are. Over indulgence in the body image projections subtly embedded into your psyche need not necessarily be true.
