Pregnancy refers to the gestation period during which a foetus is developed in a women’s uterus. It’s a particularly important time during a woman’s life since the both the baby and mother face considerable health risks during this period. Malnutrition or lack of hygiene during pregnancies is often linked to poor health or death of the infant or mother. In India, a mother dies every ten minutes due to pregnancy-related issues, mostly stemming from malnutrition or because of access to healthcare services. Other than that it’s also important to lead a health life during pregnancy – like eating right, abstaining from alcohol or smoking and also getting adequate exercise.
