Malabsorption

The medical term for malabsorption is tropical sprue. This condition is chararcterised by difficulty in absorbing nutrients from food, thus causing deficiency of the required nutrients in the body. Experts have investigated that overgrowth of intestinal bacteria may initiate the problem. The condition of malabsorption can be detected by following symptoms like indigestion, abdominal pain and cramps, diarrhea, pale skin and weight loss. Intake of antibiotics along with plenty of fluids and vitamin supplements help to overcome the problem.
