As the winter is just setting in, this is the right time to plan trips to visit relatives in different cities or just go out and visit any place. Even though travelling makes you more peaceful and calm, when travelling with an infant, you need to be extra careful. Mahalakshmi K, National HR Manager from Teddy Baby Buddy Panel shares some handy tips for happy winter outings with infants.
Carry warm clothes: If you are going on a vacation, don’t forget to carry woolen garments for your kid. Also, ensure that your infant has the full protection gear from monkey caps and socks to tiny cute hand gloves.
Do not disturb infant's routine: Ensure that the food and bedtime routine are maintained to the T so that the baby does not become cranky. Also, make sure you carry a bottle of warm water with you even though mineral water is available everywhere.
Carry diapers without fail: According to your travel plan, remember to take a pack of diapers, as you might not easily get it if you are at any remote location or away from a city. Also, your usual brand may not be available at the place you are going to.
Opt for comfortable clothing: It is very important that you dress your kid in easy and comfortable clothes. You can adorn them with cute cardigans and jacket but ensure that you keep it simple and preferably soft and silky.
Winter cream & baby lotion: During winters, the skin becomes dry and itchy and hence, carrying a baby lotion is a mandatory. Invest in one with high SPF content, so that it protects the baby' skin from harmful UV rays as you bask in the sun.
Carry basic first aid: It is always better to be safe than sorry. Carry a small first aid kit or essential medications of your kid in your bag. Make sure the first aid kit has all necessary ointments, antiseptics, band-aid and most important a good thermometer.
Mosquito repellent & machines: Carry herbal mosquito repellents and mat machines to keep the mosquitos under check, while the baby is sleeping. Also, put ear buds or cotton in the kids’ ears as it helps in preventing cold air from entering the ears.
