You surely know that children benefit a lot from reading books. However, most children's books have either animal characters or boy characters, something that my daughter doesn't like. That is why I started looking for books with female characters and I absolutely love some of them!
Goodnight stories for rebel girls: This book is absolute love! Girls of all ages should have this book on their bookshelf. It lists 100 of the most powerful and inspiring women through history, accompanied by beautiful portraits of the women.
Room on the broom: While this book also has animal characters who speak, the main character is a witch who is very kind and helps the animals she meets. A hilarious book that teaches kindness to little kids.
Zog: It is a story of a dragon and a princess who actually wants to be a doctor and nurses the injured dragon back to health. Along comes a prince to rescue the princess, when she confesses that she wants to be a doctor!
A chair for my mother: A young girl saves money, her mother saves all the tips she gets and the grandmother saves all the money she can so they can all buy a big chair for the three of them. It is a story about this family and how much women can achieve if they want to.
Amelia to Zora: An alphabetical encyclopedia-like book that enlists all the powerful women in history, from the likes of Oprah to Amelia Earhart!
