You exercise 5 times a week, and yet you see no results? The problem could be with what you are eating after an intense workout session. Learn from fitness expert Roshni Shah from V’s Fitness Studio, Mumbai the post-workout eating mistakes you could be making.
Over indulging: Just because you exercised, you cannot eat whatever you want. How much you eat and what you eat matters a lot more than how much you exercise when it comes to weight less. Be sure to eat right even after working out.
Skipping the carbohydrates: Your muscles require a lot of glycogen to recover after a workout. Whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables make for the best dietary sources of glycogen.
Loading up on too much protein: That you need a lot of protein after a workout to maximise gains is just a myth. As long as your diet includes adequate protein, you do not need to load up on protein after a workout.
Drinking alcohol: Downing a few glasses of beer after a workout will interfere with your muscle’s ability to rebuild and recover efficiently.
Not drinking water: Even a light workout where you do not sweat too much can lead to mild dehydration. So make sure that you drink enough water after a workout.
