If you have a sedentary desk job, you know that sitting is not good for your health. If 10,000 steps seems like a far away goal, here’s what you can do to add more steps to your day.
Park the car farther away: Park your car in the farthest corning of the parking lot. Every extra minute of walking you do from your car to your work you burn calories.
Take the stairs: Just bypass the elevator and take the stairs.
Mow the lawn: When you mow the lawn you take many steps in a minute.
Get off at the earlier bus stop: If you are using the public transport to get to work, hop out of your boss or train one stop early and walk to your office from there.
Use the other washroom: Use the washroom that is on the other corner of your floor instead of the one that is just around your bay to get yourself moving.
Take your dog for a walk: Just take your dog out for a walk in the streets.
Window shop during your lunch break: A stroll in the afternoon can earn you a few more steps while you leisure walk. So even if you are window shopping for 15 minutes you end up taking around hundreds of steps without hurting your pocket.
Vacuum clean your house: If you have not cleaned your house for ages, just vacuum your house to make it to 10k steps.
Wash the car: Scrub and clean your car on your own. Even if washing car takes you just 15 minutes, you will boost your count of steps in the day.
