When you desperately want to lose weight, you might just go on a crazy diet and workout several times a day. But that way, you only stress your body and end up losing your muscles instead of fat. According to fitness expert Roshni Shah, these signs could mean that your body is burning muscles instead of fat.
You feel sluggish: If you are overdoing your diet and workouts, you will not only feel tired but will also work your muscles less and also get less time for muscle repair. So you will eventually end up losing a lot of muscles instead of fat.
You notice rapid weight loss: If you notice that you lost a whopping five kilos in a month, it means that you are using your muscles as a source of energy. Remember there is a limit to how much weight your body can shed in a week or a month.
You do not see progress: If you do not give your muscles enough time to repair, you will notice that you have hit a plateau. You will also not be able to lift heavier weights to tone your muscles. And your low performance will automatically affect your progress.
You find difficulty in balancing: If you have a hard time keeping your balance, it could mean that you are not consuming enough calories and you have low blood sugar. You will also have a poor focus and performance if you cannot keep your balance.
You are always cranky: Not eating enough definitely effects how well your brain works, making you cranky. And since your brain tells all of the muscles what to do, when it’s running on energy reserves that is your muscles you won’t be able to work out as efficiently either.
