You must be working hard to build your core but building your core is also equally important. Weak glutes can throw off your posture, your balance and also impact your performance. So how do you actually know your glutes are weak? Fitness expert Siddharth Solanke from BFY Fitness tells you the signs.
Poor posture: Slouching is a common indicator of weak glutes. You definitely need some glute strengthening if you have a bad posture and hunching over during the day.
Knee or hip pain during a workout: If your knees hurt during a workout, it can be a sign of weakness in the glutes. Pain in front of the knee is also a common sign of weak glutes.
Plantar fasciitis: Plantar fasciitis which is indicated by a sharp pain or inflammation in the heels is a sign of weak glutes. A chronic glute weakness can cause an abnormal foot strike during running which eventually leads to the plantar fasciitis pain.
An abnormal gait: Do you tend to run with a sway to one side? A stiff hip joint or a poor mobility in the hip joint usually causes an altered gait.
Blisters on foot: Blisters can be a result of an abnormal gait during running and an altered gait can be related to weak glutes.
