Each one of us is guilty of abusing our body. Bingeing on junk food, exercising incorrectly, resorting to unhealthy diets -- we've done it all at some point in our lives. We asked a few well known fitness trainers about the silliest fitness and diet goof ups they did when they were younger. This is what they had to say-
Sucheta Pal, Zumba instructor - "I was a junk food addict and I used to think that I was invincible. My breakfast used to be parathas in ghee, lunch was burgers with a fried filling and dinner used to be pizzas, while I lead a sedentary life working in the corporate sector a few years back. I call it the cubicle life. Things changed drastically when this mistake cost me two years of my life as I suffered for irritable bowel syndrome which lead to anxiety disorder. It took me the last 10 years to correct my body after years of self abuse. It's on the path of a fantastic recovery!"
Viraj Sarmalkar, celeb fitness trainer - "For almost a year, in around 1997-98, I used to have almost 60-70 eggs every day! Whey protein wasn’t easily available and I used to think loading up on eggs would help me bulk up. I used to be some 75 kgs even after 5-6 years of training religiously. There were times when I had 90 eggs at a time!"
Pragya Bhatt, yoga teacher - "I used to work out daily, without a break. I wasn’t taking enough rest. Sometimes I would work out twice a day, seven days a week. When I was young, I could do that. But over time, it started taking a toll on my body. It got weaker because I never gave it time to recover."
Radhika Karle, celeb fitness trainer - "Exercise mistakes were the usual – for a long time, I used to do only doing cardio exercises and no weight training. Diet mistakes were few as I have been studying nutrition since I was 18. But when I was in school, I ate a whole lot of junk food!"
