You’ve trained for many months, and seen your body transform. However, due to certain events, your motivation to train hard has been diminishing, and you find yourself skipping sets and even some exercises from your routine. If you are looking for motivation to get started again, then you’ve come to the right place.
Try a new form of workout: It’s probable that you have become too used to of your regular workout, and the thought of working out your chest induces a yawn! It is time to give your regular workout a break, and try out new exercises. Shifting to purely bodyweight training for a month could be a good idea! Anything is better than skipping the gym.
Attend bodybuilding competitions/Watch them on the internet: There is nothing better than watching the best in the business to fire you up to reach better. Sometimes, staying around unfit people may make you feel complacent. Attending a bodybuilding competition in your city will expose you to several people with extremely ripped and awesome bodies. If you can’t find any in your city, then watch these competitions on the internet. It’s not the same, but it’s better than nothing.
Set a new target: So, you’ve lost the amount of pounds that you wanted to lose. Now what? If you go to the gym, just to maintain your current physique then you are bound to fail sooner or later. You need to aim for better performance and better results, and have a deadline too. An example of a fitness goal could be, ‘I’m going to bench press 150 pounds by December.’
Sign up for a competition: Signing up for a marathon or a bodybuilding competition could be a good way to motivate yourself to train hard. You might not win, but the training and hardwork you’ll put in will make you fitter and healthier. That is definitely a victory in itself, and more than worth the registration fee.
Look at your old photos: On a bad day, when nothing seems to be going your way, just look at your old photos and think about how you felt on the day you had started your fitness journey. It didn’t look probable that you would reach as far as you have, but you did. If you put in the same effort again, you’ll definitely reach much further.
