You have just washed your hair, and you see a bunch of hair in your sink. Before you blame it on anything else, check the hair product you are using. It could be the reason of all the hair fall. According to hair expert Janet Fernandez, hair products could be the reason why your hair is shedding.
Hair dyes: They can also weaken the hair strands. Dyes often contain paraphenylenediamine which can cause contact dermatitis. The irritation in scalp has in turned been linked to thinning hair.
Shampoo: Your shampoo may contain harsh chemicals like polyethylene glycol that can stress your hair and make it brittle. Read the label on the pack before you buy shampoo.
Hairspray: The styling product that you use to make your hair stay in place contains alcohol that can dry out your hair and leave it weak, making it susceptible to breakage.
Hair gel: Hair gel can put your hair in place but at the same time make it scorched and brittle ultimately leading to hair loss.
Chemical hair straightening treatment: The chemical straighteners break the bonds of the outer layer of hair that maintain the hair curls. As the bond breaks, the hair does become straighter, but it becomes weaker and brittle at the same time.
