Dandruff is a common problem with most people these days and since it is a fungal infection it is a little difficult to get rid of Unfortunately, a lot of myths about dandruff are popular. Mr Rohit Batra, leading dermatologist busts dandruff myths. Let's take a look:
only people with dry scalp can get dandruff: This is a myth, in fact, people with oily scalp are more prone to dandruff. The oil dries up and adds on to the dandruff.
Dandruff is communicable: NO! Dandruff isn't contagious. It is a fungal infection.
Stress causes dandruff: Stress leads to a lot of health issues, but dandruff isn't one of them.
Copper comb can cure dandruff: The only way to get rid of dandruff is consistent washing. No comb can cure dandruff.
You can only get dandruff during winters: This is a myth. The reason being that people tend to confuse seborrheic dermatitis, a serious irritation(similar to dandruff) which is common in winters.
Dandruff causes hair fall: It doesn't! Hair fall isn't anywhere related to dandruff
Oiling your hair a lot can help you get rid of dandruff: It is, in fact, the opposite. Oiling too much will just add on to the dandruff. Washing your hair well is the key.
