Nothing screams old more than stained, yellow teeth. While genetics plays a role on how fast you age, your food habits have a lot to do with your appearance. According to well-known dentist Dr Nikita Goyal, these foods can stain your teeth and make you look old.
White wine: Alcohol causes your teeth to stain. And while you think that red wine is the culprit, white wine is more acidic than red wine and causes the damage.
Dry fruits: Your favourite dry fruits may provide you with a lot of nutrients, but they have their downside. The sugar in them sticks to your teeth and leads to the formation of bacteria and discoloration. Dry fruits are also high in sulphites that increase free radicals and hinder collagen growth.
Coffee: Sipping coffee all day long can also lead to tooth discoloration. Coffee always exposes your teeth to acid, and by adding sugar, you also expose your teeth to bacteria.
Lemonade: Lemonade contains chock full of acids that can wear through your enamel. The sugar in lemonade can also impair your skin. So just drink water to stay dehydrated. If you need a flavour boost, you can simply drink fruit-infused water.
Candies: These sweet treats not only stick to the teeth but also stay in the mouth for a long time as they take a lot of time to get dissolved. So whenever you eat candies the next time, remember they are making you look old.
Aerated drinks: Your teeth get exposed to acid present in aerated drinks which lead to teeth discoloration. When you drink one, finish the drink as quickly as possible rather than sipping it through the meal or while watching TV.
