The beauty world is going crazy over face masks made with activated charcoal. From getting rid of fine hair to clearing off blackheads and whiteheads, activated charcoal is being touted as the next skincare essential. Celine Mathew, Mirrors salon shares a few charcoal face masks that you can easily make at home.
Charcoal peel-off mask: In a bowl, break open 3 capsules of activated charcoal, mix in an egg white and 1 tablespoon of fuller mud (multani mitti). Add some water to get a paste like consistency. Apply on your face and let dry. Peel off once dry and wash your face with warm water.
For another peel-off mask, mix charcoal from 3 capsule with a few drops of vitamin oil, 1/2 teaspoon of glycerin, 1 teaspoon bentonite clay and 1 teaspoon raw honey. Add about 2 teaspoons of water to make a smooth paste. Apply all over face and let it dry for about 10 minutes. Peel off and wash with warm water.
For a simple charcoal face mask that will cleanse your pores and make your skin glow, simply mix 1 teaspoon charcoal powder with some rosewater. Mix into a paste and apply on your face. Wash with warm water after it dries.
For a moisturising facemask, mix 2 capsules of activated charcoal with 1 spoon of chickpea flour, few drops of lavender essential oil and some water to make a paste. Then you know the drill, -- apply, dry, wash.
