One of Bollywood’s first superstars, Rajesh Khanna passed away at his Bandra residence after a prolonged illness, a family friend said. He was 69. ”He is no more,” a family friend told IANS. Kaka had been perennially ill for a long time. He was 70 years old. He breathed his last at his residence Aashirwad in Mumbai. The actor’s condition had been deteriorating since April when stopped eating and had complained of weakness. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital twice in the past month.
He is survived by his wife, actress Dimple Kapadia and two daughters, Twinkle and Rinkie. The 69-year-old, fondly called “Kaka” by his fans, was admitted to the hospital June 23 and has been undergoing treatment since then. His estranged wife, actress Dimple Kapadia, has been by his side ever since. The actor has been battling health issues for quite some time. In April, he was admitted to the hospital after he complained of weakness, but was discharged in three to four days. The actor had battled alcoholism all his life and died of suspected liver problems.
